Partial Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Drainage with Intact Interatrial Septum Associated with Congenital Mitral Stenosis
نویسنده
چکیده
PARTIAL anomalous pulmoniary venous drainage wvith ani intact iinteratrial septLm associated with mitral stenosis represents an uncommon but interesting hemodynamic problem. There have been 12 such cases published in the literature, 1(0 of which three were diagnosed at autopsy.' 2 The initial clinical diagnosis has usuially been that of Lutembacher's syndrome.4 7, The present case is reported because of three interesting and significant findings: (1) the chest roentgenogram showed marked plethora of the anomalously draining lulng tissue (right tupper and middle lobes); (2) this anomalously draining lung tissue remained free of adventitious souLnds when thc patient developed severe putlmoniary edema; (3) at right heart catheterization the "wedge" pressure recordcd in anomalouisly draining lulng tissuie equaled the right atrial pressure, while theb "wedge" pressture recorded from normally draining lung tissue wxxas mtich greater and equaled left atrial pressuire.

متن کاملPartial anomalous pulmonary venous return with intact atrial septum: report of four cases.
Four patients are reported who underwent repair of partial anomalous pulmonary venous drainage with intact atrial septum. One patient also had azygos continuation of the inferior vena cava and two patients had associated mitral stenosis. Diagnostic considerations and guidelines for operative repair are presented.
متن کاملAnomalous pulmonary venous return with intact atrial septum: diagnosis and pathophysiology.
Twenty-one patients with partial anomalous pulmonary venous drainage with intact atrial septum have been studied. These include 13 patients not previously reported from our laboratories and eight patients with complete hemodynamics reported by others. Methods for identification of this abnormality and for identification of an intact atrial septum are described, including differential indicator ...
